Guggenheim Museum - Custom Retail Collection Inspired by Iconic Architecture
The Guggenheim Museum sought merchandise that could do what great design always does — carry meaning beyond its function. The brief was to create retail-quality products that let visitors take home a piece of the museum itself, reflecting its iconic architectural identity without reducing it to mere memorabilia.
Our team drew directly from Frank Lloyd Wright’s celebrated spiral as the creative foundation, translating its sweeping, layered geometry into a cohesive ceramic collection — mugs, teapots, sugar bowls, and salt and pepper shakers — each bearing the building’s signature ribbed contour in pure white porcelain. The restraint of the palette was intentional: form over decoration, letting the architecture speak for itself. Each piece was paired with thoughtfully designed packaging, with distinct colour treatments per product to enhance visual appeal and create an unboxing experience worthy of the museum shop floor.
A ceramic collection that transforms one of the world's most recognisable buildings into an object you can hold — functional, collectible, and unmistakably Guggenheim.
From concept and ceramic design to food-grade compliance and retail-ready packaging, this project brought together product development and presentation into a collection that sits comfortably between art object and everyday object.
